Hi, I am a qualified professional genealogist, family historian and house historian based in Surrey and the South East specialising in pre 19th century research. I am also a solicitor (none practising).

I have been researching my own family history for about 20 years. My qualifications include the Higher Certificiate in Genealogy and Diploma in Genealogy from the IHGS (Institute of Heraldic and Genealogical Studies) and before starting my family history business I worked as a solicitor for 18 years.
I am a member of AGRA Council and the Chair of the AGRA Events Committee

Whilst I research all era’s my particular interest is researching families and their homes and business premises before 1800.
Archives hold a vast array of records. These can be utilised to extend your family tree and provide insights into the lives of your ancestors and the homes and properties they owned and/or occupied.
Of particular interest are the court records of the past: both civil and criminal. Many of our ancestors will be found in the complex court system of the past.
For me, there is nothing quite like examining a 300+ year old record to find an ancestor and discover how they lived. From Agricultural workers and military personnel, to Lords of the Manor and their tenants; Criminals to Knights of the Realm; there is no such thing as a “boring” ancestor!
I am always excited to take on new projects and help you find your family or house history.
